Harald Hardrada or Harald Sigurdsson, spent his life on the most distant battlefields. From Novgorod to Constantinople (fighting among the Varangians) until attempting the conquest of England after taking power in Norway, Harold Hardrada was one of the most important commanders of the Middle Ages.
