GiM084 - ASSASSIN HEROES
Abu’l-Fath. The Great Deceiver.
Operating out of the Graeco-Roman town of Apamea, in Central Syria, Abu’ l-Fath was a named Assassin (and local judge!) who took part in a ‘hit’ against local lord Khalaf ibn Mula’ib, in 1106. Abu’ l-Fath’s attack led to Apamea becoming the first significant, and semi-independent, Assassin base in Syria.
This miniature of Abu’l-Fath is not for sculking in the shadows; he is charging forward, brandishing two jambiyas (curved daggers). The figure can be used as any type of Fidais Hero of Retainer, in games of Assassins and Templars.

Khalid the Shade. Death from the shadows.
Inspired by the unknown Assassin who attempted to kill Lord Edward (later Edward I - ‘Longshanks’), by leaping from the shadows and thrusting a poisoned dagger towards the future king - who had just opened his bedchamber door to the assailant.
This archetypal Assassin miniature is crotched, swathed in a heavy hood and cloak, clutching a dagger, and is even sporting an eye patch - for a touch of extra sinisterism!
