GS60 - William of Orange.

The year 1672 was a critical turning point in William of Orange's life and in Dutch history, known as the "Disaster Year" (Rampjaar). In response to a coordinated invasion by France, England, Münster, and Cologne, William was appointed Stadtholder and Captain-General of the Dutch Republic, a position from which he led the resistance that saved the country from being overrun.
