Count Monterosso
An enigma to anyone outside of his inner circle, the Count just recently came to Venice with a small entourage of guards in tow, claiming to be descended from nobility living in former terraferma land-holdings in the Alps. After purchasing an abandoned mansion in the city, the Count deemed it the right time to hold a grand ball, inviting other nobles and aristocrats to celebrate the purchase. But there are rumors that surround the Count–some say that they never see him on the streets during the day, that he has an odd odor, people sometimes go into the mansion and are never heard from again. And why does he always wear a Venetian mask?
Thrall Guard
The private guard of Count Monterosso. As it turns out, they’re undead thralls of a Vampire lord. They wear the bauta to hide their cursed faces from public eyes. Whilst they have some benefits that come from being thralls bound in blood to their greater master, they are nowhere near as powerful as the Count and suffer from the same weaknesses.
